SOLITUDE
Do you love solitude? Many don't find her wholesome And often treat her as irksome But I always am in quietude Whenever she is in full blossom.
I feel her as a gift of Nature Only if we understand her nature To me she is never premature I always see her silently mature
For I know the way to nurture
Do you ever love her company? Only if you enjoy her harmony Or else she will appear as ebony But she to me is a treasured company And enchants me in rapturous symphony.
Do you love to leave her lonely? I warn you it's not manly For you are going to pay dearly Why? You may ask angrily I will answer you solemnly
Are you madly in love with solitude? Yes,I read the question on your raised brow My acquaintance with her began to grow Advice in loads forced me to reach a draw But my love for her I couldn't overthrow.
How do I spend time with solitude? I dearly cherish her in my mind To flirt with her I always am bend My kith and kin tried my ways to mend But I am stubborn in my heart to defend.
Solitude and I are merged in one In spite of the urges of everyone to shun Our flirtations have a good deal of fun Because her heart I have won And always I want to keep her if I can.
People find her shallow and not deep They cannot be blamed for they only peep But I let her into me to seep Down and down in me I want her to keep For she never gave me a chance to weep.

A BIRTHDAY REMEMBRANCE
The day I remember my cherub
It stands out very fresh
In my memory.
Left behind unnursed
Dried in mucus and blood
You lay neglected on the table
Helpless totally helpless
Without any one to care.
I longed to take you
In my arms but couldn’t
Since your mom was in danger
In a sort of coma
In the brim of an eternal oblivion.
But you unaware of all
Slept on peacefully
It posed a question
Deep and subtle in nature
And made me rapt in thought
About the helplessness of man.
It reminds me constantly
The futility and enigma of life.
The scene filled me with woe
A tear rolled down my cheeks
But when you were placed
Awhile in my arms
I felt life joyous.
On and on went the days
First you smiled
Then you lisped
Later you walked
All thrilled my mind
And my heart missed a beat
With joy inexpressible.
Those are moments of life
That haunt my heart still
With thoughts sweet and warm
How pleasant it was
To see you smile and giggle
In innocent pure joy.
It stands out very fresh
In my memory.
Left behind unnursed
Dried in mucus and blood
You lay neglected on the table
Helpless totally helpless
Without any one to care.
I longed to take you
In my arms but couldn’t

MY FLIRTING WITH A HORNET
There she sat
With unruffled complacent air
To none she paid attention
Thoughts in her own she engrossed,
She a narcissist, I doubt
Herself enjoying in full content;
Hesitantly I approached
With elegance she watched
Displaying colours sparkling
And with mischief eyes gleaming
Around she looked with indignance
Then she opened her wings
Like a parasol swings
Coloured with many flounces
Shining brightly in plumes
She advanced towards
With a feline grace.
Then stopped and eyed me quizzically.
I caressed her softly
Objection none she had
My passes she enjoyed
I thought ………
Her pensive acceptance
Made me venture again
How angry she became!
Alas ! she stung me most cruelly
Then flew away nonchalantly
Leaving me quite stunned
Agape and embarrassed.
With unruffled complacent air
To none she paid attention
Thoughts in her own she engrossed,
She a narcissist, I doubt
Herself enjoying in full content;
Hesitantly I approached

THE MOONLIT NIGHT
Motionless and still I stood
Watching the calm ripples in the lake
Heaven with myriad of stars and the moon
Reflected clearly in the waters
Boarded by tall elegant cedars
Enchanted me beyond words.
Vainly I tried to describe
But found it’s useless
I realized with a sudden start
It’s beyond the power of mortals
To define the divine architecture.
My eyes wandered beyond
To savour the vestal beauty
I heard the wind murmuring
Sweet meaningless nothings to the trees
And the whispering of the meadow’s
When they danced in pure glee.
The hills teemed with cedars
Girdled by a thick ring of mist
Rose high to reach the moon
Beckoning eagerly with mirth
Simply took my breath away.
The deep and dark vales down
Blanketed by the clouds
Went on watching silently
The covetous romance of the cedars
And made their visages dark all the more.
I stood there transfixed
And dared not to move
For it may disturb the serenity
Which I didn’t desire to happen
So I slipped unobtrusively away
Keeping the scenes vivid in mind.
Watching the calm ripples in the lake
Heaven with myriad of stars and the moon
Reflected clearly in the waters
Boarded by tall elegant cedars
Enchanted me beyond words.
